MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF
THE TUSCARORA TOWNSHIP BOARD
DECEMBER 2, 2003

Meeting called to order at 7:00 by Supervisor Jacobson

Board Members Present: Hahn, Jacobson, Fisher, Waldron, (at 7:23 pm)

Absent: Burdick

8 citizens were also present

Minutes of the November meeting were approved as published.

Motion by Clerk Hahn to adopt the agenda with the exclusion of item 15. Seconded by Treasurer Fisher and carried 3 yeas, 2 absent.

Police Report: Indian River Christmas had a nice night and all went well. The no parking signs are still not up on M-68 from Straits Highway to the Expressway.

Airport Report: Nothing new to report.

Treasurers Report: $279,216.09 -The tax bills have a spot to mark on them for receiving a receipt.

Motion by Clerk Hahn to have the Supervisor and Clerk sign the amendment #1 for Professional Services for the Marina Trail Park for the Preliminary Engineering study.  Seconded by Treasurer Fisher and carried 3 yeas, 2 absent.

Motion by Treasurer Fisher to have a streetlight installed on the intersection of S. Straits Highway and Matts Drive. Seconded by Clerk Hahn and carried with 3 yeas, 2 absent.

Mr. Caucchi asked the board for a letter of support to the DNR for purchasing property behind the old Mobil station. He gave an overview of the plans for development and exterior design. He needs the property for future septic and well and to make the back of the building more attractive. This will also add jobs and improve the look of the downtown area. The Lumbar Yard is also doing a letter and would like to buy the land behind there building also. Motion by Treasurer Fisher to send a letter to the DNR on behalf of this request. Seconded by Clerk Hahn with 3 yeas, 2 absent.

Motion by Clerk Hahn to adopt the federal poverty guidelines for the 2004 assessments. Seconded by Treasurer Fisher and carried with 3 yeas, 2 absent.

Motion by Treasure Fisher to have the Police Chief contact the safety administrator on the request from the DDA on reducing the speed limit on Straits Highway to 30 MPH. Seconded by Clerk Hahn and it carried with 3 yeas, 2 absent.

Motion to pay the bills by Trustee Waldron. Seconded by Treasurer Fisher and it carried with 4 yeas, 1 absent.

Motion to adjourn by Trustee Waldron. Seconded by Treasurer Fisher. Carried with 4 yeas, 1 absent.
