Minutes of the January meeting were approved as published.
Motion by Trustee Waldron to adopt the agenda for this meeting. Seconded by Treasurer Fisher and the motion carried.
Police Report: There have not been many complaints over snowmobiling this year. We received a verbal $10,000.00 grant from the Bear Creek Township Local Revenue Sharing Board. The rule is to keep the money in Emmet County, but due to the close working relationship with Law Enforcement Officials in Emmet County and the use of our K-9 Officer to benefit their County, they felt we qualified.
Treasurer Report: $1,051,970.77 without interest
Motion by Treasurer Fisher to approve the request presented by Top O Michigan Outboard Racing Club to close the Indian River and approve a waiver of the “no wake” ordinance on June 26 and 27, 2004 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for the boat races. Seconded by Trustee Burdick and the motion carried.
Clerk Hahn has contacted waste haulers about the spring cleanup. The dates are June 12th or 26th. The board agreed to June 12th due to the boat races and the annual meeting being on the 26th. The bids are due on Feb 27th to be awarded at the March meeting.
There will be an open house for Bob Burwell on the 26th of February from 7 pm to 9 pm at the township hall. Bob retired after 25 years on January 9th.
Audience comments: Jim Phillips asked if the trash pick up could be put on the ballot for a vote. Supervisor Jacobson said that the act does not allow for that and the only way would be to have petitions circulated to get the 51% of land area signatures.
Les Compton asked about the Cheboygan County Road Commission new garage being put in the Industrial Park. Trustee Waldron had the same thought. Supervisor Jacobson to contact the Manager of the Road Commission to discuss the matter.
Motion by Trustee Waldron to pay the bills. Seconded by Trustee Burdick. Motion carried.
Motion to adjourn at 7:18 pm by Trustee Waldron. Seconded by Trustee Burdick and it carried.
