Motion by Clerk Hahn to adopt a policy effective today, June 24, 2006, that the township employees that receive health insurance (assessor and office admin) can only receive it for themselves. If they want additional coverage for a spouse or family, the employee would make the additional premium payment. Seconded by Trustee Waldron and it carried.
Supervisor Jacobson talked about the road project that will be started on July 10th. Motion by Clerk Hahn to authorize the Supervisor and Clerk to sign the contract to start the project. Seconded by Trustee Rohr and it carried.
The homeowners on Bosserman Trail would like to have the road paved. Supervisor Jacobson to contact the CCRC for a windshield estimate to take back to the homeowners. It is a private road.
At our budget meeting there was discussion on the spring clean up day. Possibly we could use the Emmet Transfer station with a voucher that would go out in the mail or they could stop in and receive one. Now only a few residences take advantage of the day due to the long lines. This way they could take advantage of it when they would need it instead of letting it sit until next June. Each resident could only use 1 per year. Treasurer Fisher to get a bit more information on it and will report back to the board.
Audience comments: Motor boats going up the Sturgeon River. They are moving silt in the river, leaking oil and gas and interfering with tubers. They have contacted the Tip of the Mitt and DNR and they tell them to contact the township. Supervisor Jacobson will make a phone call to see whom they need to contact if they want to restrict boats from going up stream.
Motion to pay the bills by Treasurer Fisher, Seconded by Trustee Rohr and it carried.
Motion to adjourn at 11:10 am by Trustee Waldron.
Respectfully submitted by Clerk Diane M. Hahn
