MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
TUSCARORA TOWNSHIP BOARD
NOVEMBER 14, 2006

Meeting called to order at 7:00pm by Clerk Hahn

Members present: Rohr, Hahn, Fisher and Waldron

Absent: Jacobson

8 citizens were in attendance

Minutes of the October meeting were approved as published.

Motion by Trustee Waldron to adopt the agenda as presented for this meeting. Trustee Rohr seconded the motion and it carried 4 yeas, 1 absent.

Police Report: None at this time.

Airport Report: The gas line is near competition.

Treasurers Report: $433,536.49

Northeast Michigan Affordable Housing asked the board to adopt a resolution to end Homelessness in Cheboygan County within ten years. This was tabled and Treasurer Fisher will call them to get more information on the plan.

A huge thank you was given to Jane and Pat McGinnis for the video services of the board meetings. They will continue for the next year.

A motion was made by Clerk Hahn to grant 0% for the cost of living for the two officers out on disability retirement. Trustee Waldron seconded the motion and it carried with 4 yeas, 1 absent. The cost of living is 2%.

Motion by Treasurer Fisher to grant the request made by An Indian River Christmas to use the lobby, restrooms, meeting room, kitchen and lobby area of the Township offices on Friday November 24 from 4 pm until 8:30 pm. Trustee Waldron seconded the motion and it carried with 4 yeas, 1 absent.

Motion by Treasurer Fisher to hold a public hearing on December 5th for the purpose of Special Local Watercraft Control on the Sturgeon River. We discussed these months ago, but the DNR wants a formal hearing held. Trustee Rohr seconded the motion and it carried 4 yeas, 1 absent.

The Board needs to re-adopt resolution 2 for Link Boulevard with the public hearing date changed to December 5, 2006. Treasurer Fisher made the motion, seconded by Trustee Rohr and it carried 4 yeas, 1 absent

Robin Rohn discussed the road ends on the west side of Burt Lake. Motion by Trustee Waldron to ask the Cheboygan County Road Commission to order PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE LAKE SIGNS to be placed on Hamilton, Springwell, Resort and King Roads. Also to send a letter of support to the Michigan State Police into the request of removing the NO PARKING signs on Hamilton and King Road. Trustee Rohr seconded the motion and it carried 3 yeas, 1 nay, 1 absent.

Motion to pay the bills as presented by Trustee Waldron, seconded by Trustee Rohr and it carried 4 yeas, 1 absent.

Motion to adjourn at 7:50 pm by Trustee Waldron.
