Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm by Supervisor Jacobson

Minutes of the April meeting were approved as published.
Motion by Clerk Fisher and seconded by Trustee Rohr to approve the agenda with the addition of an update on our cemeteries and it carried with 5 yeas.
Police Report: Standing on the statistical report.
The Tuscarora Township Board and the Tuscarora Township Police Dept. recognized Officer Gordon Temple for his dedication to his K-9 partner, Hero, and for all the hours that Officer Temple donated to make the program a success. Hero recently retired due to health problems.
Airport Report: Slow at the moment. Preparing the airport for the Summerfest activities to be held at the airport in July.
Treasurers Report: $999,518.43 in township accounts, $13,727.56 in tax account.
Maria Barton, candidate for District Court Judge presented an overview of her experience and qualifications to preside over the District Court.
Dan Martin, candidate for District Court Judge, gave an overview of his experience and qualifications to preside over the District Court.
The Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 7:00 p.m.
Motion by Trustee Waldron to adopt the salary resolution for the officials, seconded by Treasurer Balazovic and it carried.
Motion by Trustee Rohr to adopt an amended resolution to correct the address of Barkley’s Seafood & Steakhouse from the Liquor Control Commission was seconded by Trustee Waldron and carried with 5 yeas.
Motion by Trustee Waldron and seconded by Clerk Fisher to grant a request of $20,000 from the police unallocated fund balance to replace worn out office furniture and flooring. The motion carried with 5 yeas.
The August and November meeting dates have been set for Tuesday, August 12, 2008, and Tuesday, November 11, 2008.
Trustee Waldron would like to invite Steve Schnell, Cheboygan County Development Director, and those individuals who have expressed an interest in being on our planning commission to review Cheboygan County’s Master Plan and what Cheboygan County would like to see in our revised plan. Trustee Waldron will obtain a date from Steve Schnell and Clerk Fisher will contact those interested and advise them of the meeting.
The employee manual is tabled until the June meeting to review the employee handbook offered from Dan Martin. Board members are asked to have questions and comments to Clerk Fisher by May 27th to have the handbook ready to be reviewed at the June board meeting.
Trustee Rohr updated the Board that all cemetery records have been entered into the cemetery program and has completed proofing his entries for Ohioville Cemetery and is in the process of proofing Oakhill Cemetery. He has located 190 veterans between the two cemeteries. Boy Scout Troop 204 is making signs for the cemeteries and would like to have them installed by Memorial Day.
Supervisor Jacobson noted that Daniel O’Henley, Cheboygan County Recycling Coordinator, reduced the recycling permits to $18.
Motion by Trustee Waldron to pay the bills as presented, seconded by Trustee Rohr, and it carried 5 yeas.
