Minutes of the September meeting were approved as published.
Motion by Trustee Waldron to adopt the agenda with the addition of a Beautification Committee Appointment and a Budget Adjustment, supported by Treasurer Balazovic and it carried with 4 yeas.
Police Report: School back in session and spending quite a bit of time there.
Airport Report: Nothing new to report.
Treasurers Report: $574,055.69 in the regular accounts, $473,872.82 in the tax accounts.
The Planning Commission recommended Denny Darst to fill the vacancy on the Planning Commission. Motion by Trustee Waldron to approve that appointment, seconded by Treasurer Bobbi Balazovic, and it carried.
A motion by Treasurer Balazovic to update the Township Investment & Depository Designation Resolution under the recommendation by our Auditor, omitting Paragraphs “F, G & H”, and showing all financial institutions previously approved. Trustee Waldron supported the motion and it passed with four yeas.
The Beautification Committee recommended Suzanne Herpel, Cindy Fisher, Carol Freismuth, Bill Jones and Bobbi Balazovic be appointed to the committee. Motion by Waldron to approve the appointments, seconded by Trustee Rohr and it carried with four yeas.
A motion for a budget adjustment of $500.00 by Clerk Fisher from 101-000-390-00 Unallocated to 101-269-940-00 Beautification Committee was approved by Treasurer Balazovic and it carried.
David Brandt and Leroy Ormsbee provided us with an overview of their experience and qualifications for the County Road Commission 6 year term that they are both running for this November. Ken Paquet spoke to us regarding his run for the 4 Year term for the County Road Commission as well as Pat McGinnis who is running for the County Road Commission 2 Year term.
Citizen Comments:
Sallie Snyder thanked the Cheboygan County Road Commission and the Township Board for the improvements being done on Prospect Street.
Mike Ridley mentioned that the Cheboygan County Road Commission will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, 6:00 p.m. to revisit the aesthetics of the proposed Indian River Camel back bridge.
Motion by Trustee Waldron to pay the bills, supported by Treasurer Balazovic and it carried.
